Mike enjoys his family (6 children) and his hobbies. Currently he is working on restoration of a 1951 Ford 'Woodie' station wagon and a 1932 Ford hot rod pickup. He is a member of the Pantera Owners Club of America, the So. California Woodie Club, the Cobra Owners Club of Orange County, the Harley Owners Group (HOG) and the Orange County Wine Tasting Society. When not enjoying his cars, he enjoys rides on his Harley Road King with his wife Kathryn or the occasional trip to wine country.
Mike graduated from Cal State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Economics. Prior to entering Real Estate, he owned and operated a successful Motorcycle dealership for 9 years. In 1979 he began his real estate career. He obtained his Brokers license in 1981 in both California and Texas. In 1991 he opened the East Orange County Regional Office for First Team. The office has been the Number 1 office in the marketplace for the last 27 years. Says Hampton 'Our goal is to provide such a high level of service to our clients and customers, that they will not have any other choice but to use us. We want to become their Realtor for life.' The strategy must be working. In 2014 the office was chosen Best Real Estate Office in Orange County in a poll conducted by the Orange County Register news paper. In 2017 the office again outpaced over 1800 offices in the Pacific West Association of Realtors by representing more buyers and sellers than any other office. In 2017 First Team Real Estate was again chosen Best Real Estate company in Orange County in the Orange County Register poll for the 8th year in a row.

1991 founding manager of the East Orange County Regional office in Tustin for First Team Real Estate. The office has received numerous awards within the company for Top listings sold, Top total transactions, Outstanding New agent of the Year for the company (8 times).

At the Hall of Fame banquet held at the Ritz Carlton in 2013 Mike was awarded the Excellence in Management award from First Team founder Cam Merage. This is only the 2nd time in the 38 year history of the company that this award has been given.
Best of Orange County 2014 was awarded to the East Orange County Regional office. The office was selected based on a poll taken by the Orange County Register news paper.
